On September 12, we welcomed our guest speaker, Minister Phyllis Newby who serves tirelessly as a missionary in Haiti. We have a longstanding relationship with her and her work. We were pleased to hear of her efforts, and presented a gift to aid her ministry. Many blessings to you, Sister Newby!

Third Street and Pastor Sanders on Television

On July 11, our morning service was taped and portions were broadcast on the Religion & Ethics Newsweekly television show. The show was seen on WETA Channel 26 in Washington on Sunday, July 18. Click here to see the segment that included Pastor Sanders and our service.

Greetings from California
In April, Pastor Sanders, while on a trip to northern California, made a side trip to visit Brother John and Sister Dorothy Liggetts. Here are a couple of pictures.

Doris Haizlip Sanders: 1927-2004

We mourned the passing of the mother of our Senior Pastor. Her Homegoing celebration was held on April 30.

Congratulations to Vivian Owens-Reid, who was honored on January 31 for her ten years of service as Director of the Fellowship Gospel Choir of John Wesley A.M.E. Zion Church, and fifty years of ministry in music. She also received an honorary doctorate degree.
