Congratulations to our Joyce Alford Sister Alford was named Teacher of the Year by the
National Alliance of Black School
Educators on November 17, 2007 during its 35th Annual Conference
in Nashville, Tennessee. The Mary McLeod Bethune Outstanding Teacher
Award is bestowed upon teachers whose innovative teaching techniques
have led to an increase in student achievement through demonstrating
unparalleled commitment and innovation toward enhancing the quality
of instruction in the classroom. |

An Eventful Week for Pastor Sanders The week of November 4, 2007 was a memorable one for Pastor Sanders.
On Sunday, the church celebrated her tenth anniversary as pastor of the Third Street Church of God. Click on the photo above to see more pictures. On Monday, November 5, the Washington Times newspaper carried a profile of Third Street, and a sermon by the pastor. And on Thursday, November 8, Howard School of Divinity in its 91st Annual Convocation, honored Professor Sanders for her distinguished service as a faculty member.
